Stranger to Stranger by Paul Simon
Full of thrilling, imaginative textures, Stranger to Stranger conjures a vivid and vital new context to Simon’s well established virtuosity as a singer and songwriter. Includes performances of "Duncan" and "Wristband" from A Prairie Home Companion.
Some words from Garrison Keillor on attending a recent Paul Simon concert:
"The man was onstage for 2 1/2 hours, big gorgeous band doing fantastic solos, all his great dance stuff, Julio/Call Me Al/Graceland/Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes, with the audience up and dancing. The man was fully engaged, passionate, his voice very moving, dancing onstage. It's the voice of a 76-year-old man, not the P.S. in his 20s, but beautiful. Odd things like the Magritte song. Took great liberties with songs, like Bridge and Homeward Bound, closed with Sounds, so earnest and true. A great privilege to see a giant."
